A Tale of 10p

Adrian Nation Romford

I've just had confirmation of a gig on Saturday 24th July at Romford with Adrian Nation, the rapidly emerging acoustic guitar virtuoso from Essex. I'm excited by this because I've been a big fan of Adrian Nation since seeing him play a few songs live recently, and because I'll be getting the opportunity to be the support act on the night, so it's the next Andy Roberts gig too.

The New Doctor Who

I did a disco last Saturday for a 21st birthday party, but with a mix of the host and hostesses friends (the oldies) and the birthday girl’s friends (the younguns), so it was a good mix. Everything went swimmingly; until right near the end when alcohol and hormones started taking effect on some of the younguns, and it being near the scheduled end time the hostess asked me to start winding things down to chill them out.

Musical Instruments

Years and years and years ago I bought a sitar.  As I  moved around the  country it got more and more beaten up to the point where everything it needed in order to be played had fallen off.  I bought a new one two years ago but tuning 20 strings is quite a chore!  I can't play guitar - but if I could only ever play one tune on the guitar, and it was "Dargai", the final tune on Richard and Linda Thompson's "Pour Down LIke Silver", I would be satisfied.

What a great gig to finish the year off !!

As I can't recall much from the Birkenhead gig ( although I know I enoyed it ! ), I thought I'd have a sober gig in Salisbury ... well that was the plan ( honest ) until my mate Mik said he wanted to come along too ... so it was obvious that we'd have a pint or 9.5 !!
